Modern Mafia debuts in Bollywood with 'David'

MUMBAI: English Indie punk band Modern Mafia have stepped into bollywood and Tamil film industry with their composition in the movie ‘David’. Their track 'Arnie' has been reworked as ‘Bandhay’ in Hindi and ‘Machi’ in Tamil.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Modern Mafia main vocalist Varun Das said, “Composing the track for Bejoy Nambiar’s David was a fairy tale. Ishaan Krishna, guitarist and vocalist in our band has sung the Hindi version, while the Tamil version was sung by independent artiste Sanjeev Thomas. The Tamil version is bit different in terms of melody and music.”

He expressed that the soundtrack of David takes you in a rollercoaster ride with multiple composers involved in the project. “Its one of the best in Indian movies as every track is a surprise and it gives many artists a platform. All the musicians come together bridging the gap in different genres. I definitely think it’s going to be different."

He added that there are talks to promote the movie in multi-cities with tours and concerts.

Modern Mafia had their first gig at MTV's F1 Rocks to open for Metallica last year. Their first single 'Arnie' from their extended play 'Random Sheep' had received great response after going viral.

Currently, they are composing new tracks and music but are skeptical if that would be an extended play or complied into a new album.
