CeeLo Green gets pulled out of yet another concert over Twitter controversy

MUMBAI: For the third time in recent weeks, singer and record producer CeeLo Green has been dropped from performing at a show. The 38 year old has been dropped from the 2014 BayFest Music Festival, which will be held in Alabama on 4 October. The decision comes after Green posted controversial tweets on his official Twitter account.

In a statement, the festival said, "In light of the recent comments attributed to CeeLo Green that are contrary to the beliefs and conscience of BayFest Music Festival, Mr. Green's performance at the 2014 BayFest Music Festival on Oct. 4 has been cancelled."

The tweet in question read, "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously. People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!! So if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?" Green apparently posted the tweet last week to his almost two million followers, but deleted soon after.

In a later post he apologised for the comments he made on the micro blogging site, calling them "idiotic, untrue and not what I believe".

Last month, the former coach of NBC's hit reality singing show- 'The Voice' pleaded no contest to charges made against him for giving a woman ecstasy during a dinner in 2012.

Green was recently pulled out of the line up for Louisiana's Gretna Heritage Festival and Washington D.C.'s Freedom Live concert, which is sponsored by the US Navy. He also cancelled his reality show 'CeeLo Green's the Good Life', after just one season. However, the network (TBS) cited "poor ratings" as the reason for ending the TV show.
