Radio One Bengaluru celebrates second birthday

BANGALORE: It's a perfect time to celebrate as 94.3 Radio One rolls out its list of goodies to usher in its second birthday cheers. For 2 years and counting, 94.3 Radio One has caught the spirit of the youth with innovative and fun-filled programming, providing not just entertainment but also infotainment.

Radio One now has the onerous job of catering to a generation of listeners used to having everything in an instant-'fataafat'. Radio One was one of the first FM channels to cut the yawn factor from Radio with its unique format, fine-tuning its programming to serve the "snacky" radio listeners with their choice of entertainment in a 20 minutes format- all the cheers in 20 minutes flat.

As the channel turns 2, the theme is '2' with a whole lot of programmes and interactive packages and of course, a mountain of prizes. Starting Monday, 94.3 Radio One has been running 2 contests every hour and 2 prizes instead of one. And the list of goodies include blackberrys, mobiles, gold, holidays in addition to a whooping 1.5 lakh in prize money. Contests are being run on every single show between Monday to Saturday from November 10 to 15.

"The level of excitement right now is huge. Radio One has ushered in a renaissance in radio programming with a whole new set of ideas that have never existed before," said Shyju Varkey, Station Head, Radio One, Bangalore.

"Radio One has always been known for bold experimentation, innovative ideas and packages, creating an atmosphere of infinite possibilities. We believe that its our unique, innovative programming that engages our audience, making it sure that we are right at the top of the list," added Shyju.

The week-long cheers will have a grand finale with 2 parties at 2 separate dance floors at Nyks on Sunday, November 15th with of course with 2 Bollywood themes running parallel.
