MELODIS Partners With SAMSUNG to Embed Industry-Leading Music Search Capabilities Into Its Newest High-Performance, Multimedia Phones

MUMBAI: Pioneering sound search technology and applications innovator MELODIS Corporation and SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd., the world's second largest mobile phone manufacturer, announced that they have partnered to embed MELODIS Corporation's Midomi music search and ID application into SAMSUNG's newest high-performance, multimedia phones on the Windows Mobile platform. Midomi's unique multi-faceted music search and ID features enable users to identify music by holding the phone to a speaker as well as singing or humming in snippets just a few seconds long. In addition, Midomi integrates with wireless carriers' music stores so users can immediately and easily purchase the music they discover.

SAMSUNG customers who access Midomi will enjoy an enhanced user experience that takes full advantage of the multimedia features included with SAMSUNG's newest high-performance phones," said WS Lee, VP of R & D Planning and Global Alliance, Mobile Communication Division in SAMSUNG Electronics.

MELODIS' mission is to make sound and speech the preferred means to search and navigate information on mobile or IP connected devices. "When it comes to music, our proprietary Sound2Sound Search Science technology enables Midomi users to quickly and accurately find what they are looking for by singing, humming or holding their SAMSUNG device to a speaker to identify the music. Today Midomi is used by millions of people around the world via the web and mobile devices, including the latest SAMSUNG handsets," added Arbabi.

The models enabled with Midomi and running on Windows Mobile 6.1 include SAMSUNG OMNIA and SAMSUNG GT-C6620. Additional handsets will be supported in the near future.
