digitalmusic.org to host second Music Biz 2013

MUMBAI: digitalmusic.org, the home of music business association NARM’s digital initiatives, is bringing back its popular App Alley mobile, game, and app showcase for a second go-round at Music Biz 2013. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 8, from 11am to 6pm at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

This year’s demoers will be able to show off their products to more than 1,000 attendees, including high-level marketing and business development executives representing record labels and digital services, managers, artists, publishers, and rights organizations. Last year, App Alley featured demos from top companies such as Spotify, Mashery, Microsoft Xbox LIVE, Thefuture.fm, ShareMyPlaylists, Bandsintown, and more.

“App Alley was a huge success for us in 2012, and we’re excited to do it again at Music Biz 2013,” said Bill Wilson, Vice President of Digital Strategy and Business Development at NARM/digitalmusic.org. “Mobile phones, games, and apps are having a remarkable impact on the music industry, and this event will give the next generation a chance to show off their innovations to a high-powered audience. We hope App Alley will give these companies the exposure they need to become the next big thing in music tech.”

Companies must be a NARM or digitalmusic.org member to demo at App Alley. Those who are interested may contact Pat Daly at daly@narm.com to purchase a Basic Display Package for $499, an Advanced Display Package for $2,500, or the Premium Display Package for $6,000. API Meetup slots of 30 minutes each are also available for those who wish to show off their APIs to the developer community.

Music Biz 2013 is one of the most important events on the industry’s calendar, giving the music content and commerce segments a place to meet with trading partners, network with new companies, and learn about new trends and products impacting the music business. Registration is now open, and rates are discounted through March 8. Prices vary based on level of membership.
