92.7 Big FM's BIG Chennai League 2012 comes to an end

MUMBAI: 92.7 Big FM, Chennai’s No. 1 melody station and winner of the Golden Mikes Broadcaster of the Year award, held the finals of the BIG Chennai Cricket League 2012 at the YMCA grounds Nanadanam. Actor Arun Vijay and the star cast of Thadaiyara Thaakka. Were at the YMCA grounds to cheer the teams on.

With the IPL finals around the corner and the Chennai Super Kings in the finals the enthusiasm at the ground was at its peak right through the match. Supporters of both Friends XI and AB Cricket Club, the finalists of the BIG Chennai Cricket League teams cheered every boundary hit and wicket taken, all of which added to the festive atmosphere. It was an intense and keenly contested battle which produced some memorable moments and finally saw Friends X11 lift the BIG Chennai League 2012 trophy and the bragging rights of City champions 2012. The league started off on April 28 with eight teams and garnered a tremendous response and was a resounding success in the end.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kiran, Cluster Head (Tamil Nadu), 92.7 BIG FM, said: “Being a cricket enthusiast myself, it was a fun day for all of us to not only witness a great game but to also crown the city champions. We hope to organize many such events to stir up some excitement for our listeners”
