AIR has adequate mechanisms to check sexual harassment at the work place

NEW DELHI: All India Radio (AIR) has set up a proper mechanism to register grievances of women employees against sexual harassment at their workplaces.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Rathore told the Parliament that AIR had adopted the Vishakha Guidelines for addressing complaints related to sexual harassment.

The Guidelines were laid down by the Supreme Court in a case relating to sexual harassment within AIR.

Internal Complaint Committees are duly constituted at all stations of All India Radio. The senior most woman officer at that Station is the Chairperson, along with two other women employees/officers as Members of the Internal Complaint Committee to inquire into the complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace.
