Times Music to launch `Amrita Pritam Recited by Gulzar`

Mumbai: Proposed to be launched by Times Music, Amrita Pritam Recited by Gulzar` is a collection of Amrita Pritam`s Punjabi poems evocatively expressed by Gulzar Saab. Music for the album has been composed by renowned melody master, Bhupinder Singh.

Amrita Pritam, a Punjabi writer and poet was the first woman recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award and the Padma Shree from the President of India in 1969. She was also awarded the Jananpeeth in 1982 for her lifetime contribution to Punjabi literature.

For his contributions to Indian cinema, Gulzar Saab was honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2004, the third highest civilian award in India. Also, Gulzar and his movies have won numerous awards at the National level including awards for best director and best lyrics.
