'Taking Woodstock' to release in India

MUMBAI: PVR Pictures would be releasing the world's first ever full length feature film based on The Woodstock Music Festival of 1969 - �Taking Woodstock' directed by Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee, in India on 9 October. The movie, as the name suggests, is inspired by one of the greatest and most pivotal moments in popular music history that gave birth to one of the largest music revolutions of all times in the world.

As a tribute to the festival in its 40th anniversary and to celebrate the release of the movie in India, PVR Pictures will be hosting a special premiere of the movie on 7 October at INOX in Goa. Celebrity musicians including Luke Kenny, Uday Benegal, Ranjit Barot, Anuradha Pal will be a part of this Woodstock celebration in Goa, along with Fountain Head Chairman Brian Tellis who has visited the Woodstock Festival. The event will will also be attended by DJ Black Jack who recently had an opportunity to meet Artie Kornfeld, one of the founding organizers of the legendary Woodstock Music & Art Fair held at Bethel in New York in 1969.

The Woodstock celebration doesn't end with the Goa musical sojourn. For all the die-hard music enthusiasts and wide spread Woodstock fans across the country, the release of this Woodstock-inspired movie in India brings with it a golden opportunity. Viewers can win an Exclusive Epiphone Taking Woodstock Coronet Guitar by watching the movie and answering a simple question. This will be for the first time the �Taking Woodstock Guitar' will be made available to audiences in India. The Exclusive Epiphone Taking Woodstock Coronet Guitar will be displayed at PVR Cinemas from next week onwards.
