MUMBAI: Super Cassettes Industries (T-Series) has filed a criminal complaint against M/s Triveni Media, which runs the Voice of India television channel for defaulting on payment due to it.

T-Series, which only last week sorted matters with Percept which it had claimed defaulted on payments for Tasveer, took Triveni Media to court saying that a cheque of Rs 13,99,320 issued by the company had been dishonoured.

Triveni had issued the cheque as part payment of license fee for use of copyrighted songs on its channel, but the instrument was dishonoured, T-Series claims.

The Patiala House Courts, New Delhi has now posted the hearing of the case for 2 April 2009.

The music company has been stringently monitoring the use of its copyrighted music by telelvision channels, FM stations and other avenues.

In January 2009, T-Series managed to get an injunction order against Asianet Communications Ltd from a Delhi court, which it claimed had been using T-Series copyrighted music on its popular reality show.

In December 2008, the label got a court injunction against Marathi channel Mi Marathi for using copyrighted songs without proper license fees.
