RGV turns singer for 'The Attacks of 26/11'

MUMBAI: Renowned director Ram Gopal Verma (RGV) has turned singer and joined the league of directors who have lend their voice in films. After 'Rakta Charitra', RGV has rendered for Telugu version of his upcoming crime-thriller film 'The Attacks of 26/11'-  based on the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Apparently music director Amar Mohile pursued RGV to sing. Verma said, "It happened in just one take. I would not call it a song. The track is more like a background score. But then Amar felt that the kind of emotions that I gave could not come in a professional's voice and wanted to keep my voice."

The track 'Nethutti Ruchi Mariginda' will be used as a promotional video.

Ramu has earlier sung a track in 'Rakta Charitra' but that went unpublicized. It was a two-part Indian biographical film based on the life of Paritala Ravindra.

Verma added that his passion for singing has made him sing again.

Produced by Parag Sanghavi under Eros International Media Ltd and Alumbra Entertainment , the film stars Nana Patekar, Sanjeev Jaiswal as Ajmal Kasab and Atul Kulkarni. It is slated to release worldwide on 1 March, followed by the Telugu version '26/11 India Pai Daadi' next week.
