Radio Lions shortlists two Indian entries

MUMBAI: The 59th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has announced its shortlists for Radio Lions with two Indian entries making the cut.

Leo Burnett’s ‘Punishment’ for Strand Book Stall and McCann Worldgroup India’s ‘Delay’ for Lasky Herbal have been shortlisted.

The work on 'Delay' campaign is credited to the chief creative officer Prasoon Joshi, executive creative director Ashish Chakravarty, creative directors Nakul Sharma and Tirtha Ghosh, scriptwriter Gunjan Gaba, account supervisor Shourabh Verma, and producer and director Akash Gupta.

Meanwhile, the work on 'Punishment' campaign is credited to chief creative officer KV Sridhar, executive creative director and scriptwriter Nitesh Tiwari, creative director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, agency producer Kevin Affonso and advertiser's supervisor Vidya Virkar.

Radio Lions in 2011 had three shortlisted entries from India and they all were from McCann Worldgroup.

Fifty-five radio entries had been submitted from India this year. A total of 185 out of the 1784 entries were shortlisted in the Radio Lions category.

The jury president for the Radio Lions is Net#work BBDO executive creative director Rob McLennan and the jury panel includes Everest Brand Solutions national creative director Rahul Jauhari from India this year.

McCann Worldgroup was the only agency from India that managed to make it to Radio Lions shortlist in 2011 and win a Bronze Lion. Two pieces of work for Onida DVD Players and one for Radio Mirchi had also made it to the shortlist last year.

The winners will be announced during the press, design, radio and cyber lions awards ceremony, which will take place on 20 June at the Grand Auditorium, Palais des Festivals.
