Radio jingles to supplement Taxsmile online campaign

BANGALORE: Taxsmile.com Pvt Ltd, which is the part of the eMudra group, announced the introduction of Automated Tax Filing Machine (ATF) a couple of day back in Bangalore and has  plans to supplement its online media campaign with radio jingles.

“We are looking at about 50,000 to 60,000 people filing their taxes through the 50 ATFs’ that we initially plan to place across six metros. Radio jingles will supplement our online campaign. We may also support the campaign by print ads, but print costs a lot of money,” said eMudra Consumer Services Pvt Ltd executive director Kalalvani Chittaramjan to Radioandmusic.com.

“We have used radio in the past to create awareness about online filing and across multiple channels. The ATF is one of the multiple channels aimed at facilitating taxfiling in the neighborhood of the tax payer and operating ATF is as simple as doing a transaction at a bank ATM is the next step in that direction,” explained Taxsmile executive director Vishal Davda.

Taxsmile is looking at doubling the number of users of its services from around 500,000 during the last fiscal revealed company officials. It is targeting the salaried class of people from organized industries. 31 July  is the last date for filing of Income Tax returns for the previous financial year for individuals, and online filing is mandatory for individuals having income in excess of Rs. 1 million says the company.

“In addition to return preparation, ATF also has an option for consumers to view computation, update Tax Payments and e-file Income Tax returns. Through ATF, Taxsmile will support filing of IncomeTax returns for Individuals who are not required to maintain books of accounts and/or get them audited” added Chittaranjan.

While both officials did not quantify the amount of spends, industry sources revealed that over the next month or so, the company would spend around Rs.2 to 3 million towards radio jingles. At present, all the creative work as well as media-buying is being done in-house.
