Next Mediaworks launches music app 'IndiaONE' on Blackberry

MUMBAI: IndiaONE, the music app launched by Next Mediaworks (who also own the radio brand 94.3 Radio One) is now available as a free download on Blackberry.

The application was earlier launched on November 2011 as a ‘paid entertainment application’ for Apple iPad and iPod users where it topped the latest itunes charts.

The company states that the decision to offer a lighter version free  is to ensure that the large base of Blackberry users in India who constantly seek Indian entertainment will now be satisfied. The application can be downloaded from the BB store or by SMS.

The application streams out audio in high quality and consists of distinct channels that include New Hindi and Tamil music, Retro Music, Hindi and Tamil streaming, Hindi Film Karaoke and a Mood player. It is best used in the Wi-Fi / 3G mode.

Radio One Ltd managing director Vineet Singh Hukmani said, “As a company we have been constantly pushing the envelope in the digital space as a means to create a viable parallel revenue stream. RIM in India is a great co–marketing partner to work with and we are glad to launch IndiaONE free on Blackberry. The app has been developed in continuing partnership with 2ergo India.”
