musiXmatch raises $3.7m, aims to be the IMDB for Music Industry

MUMBAI: musiXmatch, the digital lyrics API, has raised 3.7 million dollars in �Series A' funding round for digital lyrics platform by Italian investor Francesco Micheli Associati. The funds will enable musiXmatch to expand their lyrics offering to application developers, music services and OEMs around the world.

musiXmatch is localized in more than 18 languages and features the largest official lyrics database with over 5.3 million lyrics. It is the first lyrics API to fully provide international rights management, states the release.

The musiXmatch lyrics API enables online music services to increase user engagement using officially licensed lyrics and music metadata. The company has partnered with BMG, Kobalt, Universal Music Publishing Group, Sony ATV Music, Harry Fox Agency, and more.
