Nigam arrived into an era where the industry was already ruled by the stalwarts like Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and many others. Sharing stage with the legendary singer Mohameed Rafi at the age of five, he came to the city of dreams Mumbai, to try his luck in Bollywood when he was 19. Few years later during his struggling phase, Nigam got his first break in the form of ‘Rafi Ki Yaadein’ he was termed as ‘Rafi clone’ by many. But after his album Deewana, Nigam never looked back and he went on to lend his voice for the song ‘Yeh Dil’ from Pardes, which changed his image.

Since then, he has created a unique style of his own and has become a role model for emerging vocal talent in India. This has made him the icon of the industry. Nigam sang in many languages besides Hindi, including Kannada, Assamese, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, English, Bhojpuri, Urdu, Nepali, Chhattisgarhi, Malayalam and Marathi.

With a career spanning over two decades, Nigam has recorded his voice for almost all top-rated music directors of India including A. R. Rahman, Ilayaraja, Anu Malik, Pritam, Jatin-Lalit, Nadeem Shravan, Mano Murthy, Vishal Shekar, Sanjeev Darshan, Aadesh Shrivastav, Anand Milind, Sajid-Wajid, V. Harikrishna, G. V. Prakash Kumar among others.

Nigam has been trying his hands on everything he can. Right from being an anchor for the show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ to RJing to hosting and judging TV shows to acting in films to walking the ramp to featuring on the cover of magazines to collaborating with some of the biggest International musicians, he’s done it all. Singing in many languages there is no genre that has remained untouched. The lad from Haryana has represented the country at several prestigious forums and inspired people all over the world with his talent and charm. For the man who gives full justice to his talent with sheer dedication and hard work, we say, this journey has just begun!
