Mihir Joshi's band 'The Works' to bid farewell

MUMBAI: Mihir Joshi's five year old independent band The Works' will perform their final concert on 11 February at Inorbit Mall in Malad. The open-air concert will feature some of the popular rock 'n' roll tracks performed by the band.

Speaking on the farewell gig Mihir Joshi said, "The band is parting ways because we all have different paths that we want to pursue at the moment. We started as friends and want to part as friends, so we decided to end things with a bang! We knew that we had to end with a big concert where all our friends & fans could come watch us and celebrate with us."

The singer is also looking forward to work on his new solo project in association with composer Gourov Dasgupta. Joshi's new track with the composer was released on his radio show One Mumbai One Music' in January.

It was absolutely brilliant to work along with Gourov. He is a genius and an incredible guitar player and I am looking forward to working on lots more tracks with the him. We also have Roshan, a fantastic musician and a programmer working with us in this project. I'm really excited about the work we're doing,... Joshi said.

Joshi who has been radio jockey for more than seven years anchored a special show One Mumbai One Music' which promoted independent music on Radio One. The show aired its last episode in January.
