Jannat rights with Sony BMG, T-Series adamant

MUMBAI:The T-Series - Vishesh Films tussle over audio rights to the soon-to-be-released film Jannat continues.

Super Cassettes (T-Series) claims to hold a valid, subsisting and binding agreement with Vishesh Films for music rights to Jannat. The music label has now sued the film's producers and Sony BMG, to which Vishesh Films awarded the music rights after a legal dispute with T-Series. While the Mumbai city civil court had earlier ruled in favour of Vishesh Films, a Mumbai high court order on 25 January has set aside the interim order. Emboldened, T - Series has now filed a suit against Vishesh Films and Sony BMG for specific performance, permanent injunction and damages in the Mumbai high court. The case will be heard on 27 February 2008.
The Emraan Hashmi starrer, has been directed by Kunal Deshmukh, and the film's music has been scored by Pritam. The film, which was originally scheduled for release in 2007, will now be released by next month, it is learnt. Vishesh Films has issued full page advertisements in trade magazines now, saying that the music will be released on Sony BMG.

T-Series however insists that Jannat's audio and audio visual song rights are still with the label.
