FM stations clean beaches after `Ganpati Visarjan`

MUMBAI: After the immersion of idols on Ganpati Visarjan that marked the end of the 11-day festival, various FM stations have geared up for cleanliness drive of the beaches.                   Big 92.7 FM in association with Brihanmumbai Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Samanvay Samiti has undertaken the task of cleaning up the Girgaum Chowpatty beach. The beach cleaning activity kick-started at 5 am with RJ Rohit and Sujata along with 500 volunteers. There were 200 sweepers from the Brihanmumbai Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Samanvay Samiti who participated in the cleaning drive.

Big FM Mumbai station director Arjun Singgh Baran said "We are very glad to have been able to execute and promote such a cause, it is an initiative towards creating a healthy environ. We are seeking a society towards such a commitment. It was a huge task to undertake the cleaning drive but we are very happy to have partnered with Brihanmumbai Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Samanvay Samiti, and the extremely enthusiastic set of volunteers for their help and support. This initiative clearly reiterates what we as a Radio Station strive to do in order make a Big difference to the lives of people by not only entertaining them but also informing and impacting their lives positively"

On the other hand, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM team cleaned the Juhu Beach starting at 8am. The Mirchi team consisted of afternoon show Khubsooraat RJ Sana and students of MMK BMS College.

Bhaskar Group`s My FM orgainsed the `Great Ganesh Visarjan Carnivalin Surat.

My FM business head Harrish M Bhatia siad, Ours is a nation of diverse religions and festivals, with every festival being celebrated in different magnitudes in different regions. People in cities like Surat had never celebrated `Ganesh Chaturthi` this way. We are glad that we are being able to shrink these geographical differences using the most powerful tool ?“ music."
