DJ Paul Van Dyk to headline Sunburn 2012

MUMBAI: Asia’s biggest Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival, Sunburn 2012 is all set to kick-off on 27 December with its star packed lineup comprising of the world’s best headliners including Grammy winning DJ Paul Van Dyk, Grammy nominee Brian Transeau, Dutch progressive house artistes DJs Sander van Doorn and Fedde Le Grand.

The sixth edition of the fest is slated to be the biggest and loudest Sunburn with over 150,000 music aficionados expected. The three-day music extravaganza will also feature 50 homegrown and international artistes from across the globe including Grammy winner Roger Sanchez, DJ Richard Durand, Arnej and Dutch duos W&W and Showtek.

Boasting of seven live stages on the shores of Goa, fans will also witness performances by Indian DJs like Sanjay Dutta, Lost Stories, DJ Ajit and more.

Aiming to also nurture emerging talent in the EDM space, the Sunburn Anthem & Video Contest (SAVC) has been extended to 15 countries beyond India this year. The contest will comprise of two sections, Audio Remixing and VFX creation. Winners will stand a chance to get an all-expense paid trip to Goa and the winning track will also be featured on the Sunburn Anthem compilation along with acclaimed international and local artistes. Voters participating in the online voting process to select a winner can also win free tickets to Sunburn Goa 2012.

The fest has been organized by Percept Live, a division of Percept Limited and presented by Micromax. Absolute, Vh1 and MTV are associate sponsors while Tuborg and Cannon are co-sponsers of the festival.

The genre of EDM was paved by Sunburn in India and the festival has been largely responsible for placing India on the global map as one of the top destinations for EDM in the world. The annual festival that was launched in Goa in 2007 has steadily grown in terms of the numbers of followers worldwide.
