Caccia takes over as Warner Music International COO

Mumbai: Gero Caccia has been appointed as the chief operating Officer of Warner Music International.

Caccia would be responsible for overseeing the company's affiliates across European territories which would include GSA, Italy, Spain, and Scandinavia. His key responsibility would include legal and corporate, HR, finance and new businesses. Says WMI Chairman and CEO Paul-Rene Albertini, "Over the years, Gero's contribution to the progress of this company has been immeasurable. I am certain that in this new position, presiding with me in the strategic process, Gero will continue to build a strong and efficient company."

Caccia joined Warner Music Italy in 1985 as Financial Director and became Vice President of Operations for Warner Music Italy in 1989. He served as MD of Warner Music Italy and President of Warner Music Southern Europe prior to moving to becoming Executive Vice President, WMI in 2002.

Meanwhile, WMI's chief digital strategist Alex Zubillaga has put in his papers and would be replaced by Michael Nash, his deputy.

Zubillaga joined Warner four years ago to help chart its digital strategy when internet file-sharing and other technologies were causing upheaval in the music business. One of his moves was the 2006 deal with YouTube to make music videos available in exchange for a small licensing fee and share of advertising revenue.
