Bappi Lahiri album to feature 50 cent rapper

MUMBAI: Bollywood 'Disco King' Bappi Lahiri is all set to launch his new album titled 'My Love' with music label T-Series.

"The album is set to release on 25 May and features Jetta (a rapper with 50 cent) as a Rap King in three videos of the album," says Bappi Lahiri. The album consists of eight tracks of which three feature Rhythm and Blues (RnB) music.

Bappi Da stakes claim to being the one who introduced RnB music in India. "It would be for the first time that an Indian singer is coming up with RnB music in India. There has been a lot of disco, Bhangra, rap going on, so this would be new and I definitely think people would accept it," says Lahiri.

After Venus released his hit album 'Habiba' which won six platinum discs, this is Lahiri's 50th non-film album release. The videos have been shot in New York and Sydney and the lyrics for the tracks have been provided by Deepak Sneha, Virag Mishra and Vijaya Bhagat.

Other than his album, there is a lot more coming Bappi Da's way. He would be seen acting in Sohail Khan's production 'Main aur Mrs Khanna' to be released this year. Speaking about his role, he says, "Yes, I am playing a major role in the movie. I am being featured as a NRI tycoon and I have also sung the title track for the movie."

Besides that, Lahiri has also been active in reality talent hunt shows, and most recently in television commercials of Pizza Hut and Seven up - the frontrunner brands he has posed for. In the latter ad, he summons consumers to search for gold and the tag line coined for Bappi Da is 'I am your golden man, you are my golden fan'.

"It is on public demand that I am doing films and commercials now. My fans like to see me and they are all fond of my gold," he signs off
