AR Rahman bags 'Public choice award' for 127 Hours

MUMBAI: Two times academy winner AR Rahman has added another prestigious trophy to his shelf. The maestro has received the �Public choice award' for �If I Rise' from 127 Hours at the �World Soundtrack Awards 2011'.

The awards were announced at the 38th Ghent International Film Festival 2011. Rahman thanked his fans on facebook page, Thanks to my fans and the World Soundtrack Academy for the Public Choice award for the score of 127 Hours....

Danny Boyle's directorial 127 Hours was based on mountaineer Aron Ralston real life story.

Rahman who was also competing in the �Best Original Song Written Category' for �If I Rise', lost out to Randy Newman, who took home the trophy for "We belong together" from Toy Story 3. The other winners included Hans Zimmer's Inception for �Best Original Film Score of the Year' and Gabriel Heinrich for �Best Young European Composer.'
