AIR bags 3 awards at 10th International Radio Festival

MUMBAI: All India Radio (AIR) has bagged three awards at the 10th International Radio Festival of Iran, organised by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Tehran.

Family No.1, based on HIV/AIDS and produced by AIR-Lucknow program executive Meenu Khare, bagged the best programme award in the category of radio competition. The award includes a cash prize of Euro 2000 (Rs 130,249), a trophy and a plaque. Vivek Srivastava, the presenter for the same programme, bagged the best presenter award.

Script writer Anubha Mukerji Sen bagged second prize for her Ripples in a Still Pond, in the category of script writers'. He got a cash prize of Euro 1000 (Rs 65,347.44), a trophy and a plaque. The programme is produced by AIR transmission executive central English feature unit Basudha Banerji.

Srivastava was awarded with a cash prize of Euro 1500 (Rs 97,633.39), a trophy and a plaque.

The awards were given away by the President of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and Institute of Broadcasting Development (AIBD) Asia-Pacific director Javad Mottaghi.
