94.3 Radio One launches Cricket Anthem sung by Shaan, Kailash Kher

* Go India Go to be launch pad of Radio One's cricket property Cricket Raaj

MUMBAI:  94.3 Radio One and LIC of India launched a cricket anthem, Go India Go…!, to inspire the Indian cricket team on Wednesday in Mumbai. The anthem, composed by Leslie Lewis, written by Swanand Kirkire and sung by Shaan and Kailash Kher, is the launch pad for Cricket Raaj, Radio One's special cricket property.

To find a title for the anthem, Radio One had put up graffiti walls in 25 malls across the country, and many people had suggested the name Go India Go'.

Composer Leslie Lewis told RadioAndMusic.com,  Go India Go is  for the masses to cheer for India  Our basic idea was to unite Indians across the cosmopolitan and small-town areas, that's why we have Kailash and Shaan singing together for the first time – just like India is a diverse country, the voices and styles of Shaan and Kailash  are strongly contrasting, but in the end, we all stand united when it comes to a common cause. So, when you hear it,  you will feel the unity of this song. Towards the end it reaches a mad frenzy, just like at a cricket match. We wanted to depict the feelings of every Indian across diverse locations and backgrounds, in simple words....

Vineet Singh Hukmani, Managing Director 94.3 Radio One said: â€?There was a time where we use to humm â€?Hum Honge Kamyaab' but Go India Go depicts â€?Hum Ho Gaye Hain Kamyaab.' We have taken a stance of supporting India. We have seen others create anthems for cricket as a sport but we wanted to create an anthem for India to win the world cup  The aim is to unite India under the common desire of winning the cricket world cup, and with LIC of India on board as a sponsor, we have a  brand that resonates an Indian-ness beyond compare....

Shyju Varkey, National Head of Marketing, 94.3 Radio One, said We understand Indians and their passion towards cricket and so we wanted to convey their passion through music, towards their favourite sport  We are proud to be the musical voice for Indian cricket lovers....

The anthem can be downloaded free from www.radioone.in/goindiago or one can sms INDIA to 53636 and download on the mobile and share it with other fellow Indians.

â€?Play Your Music Day' 94.3 Radio One's popular monthly property along with Cricket Raaj, also offers its listeners  â€?Cricket- Play Your Music Day' which will be hosted by the World Cup winning squad of 1983....
