MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM organized "Suryvavukaga Oru Song" Contest at  at GRT Convention center, Chennai where 12 enthusiastic participants sang their favorite Vaaranam Ayiram Songs! These twelve participants were short listed out of 250 contestants based on Auditions that happened over two days at the Studios of Radio Mirchi.

The event was started by Sriranjani Sridhar, who mesmerized the audience with her magical voice by singing the melodious song Munthinam Partane.

By the time Aishwarya, walked in for her performance the stage was already set with wonderful performances by Sai Hari and Abirami. Actor Surya and the people present there were blown away "Anal mele" song performed by Aishwarya. "It took me to the sets of the song." quipped Surya.

The contest lasted for 2 hours with the last contestant Balaji  singing the folk number "Anjale"!! Actor Surya was particularly impresees with the way Aishwarya performed "Anal Mele".

Balaji and Sharat walked away with the Runner up awards and to her surprise "Aishwarya" won the best singer. She walked away with a Guitar Autographed by Surya...

"I have never won 1st place in my life and to get the prize from Surya is indeed the best thing to happen in life" said the jubilant winner.

The session ended with a Surya's Group Photograph with all participants and the winners.
