Jack Johnson's new album to The Sea tops Billboard album chart with #1 debut, 243,000 sold

MUMBAI: Jack Johnson's 5th studio album, To The Sea, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, moving ­­­­243,000 copies.
 
The album has also debuted at #1 in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Switzerland. The album debuted in the Top 5 in Germany, Austria, and Japan, and Top 10 in Holland and Greece  The album features the first single, ...You and Your Heart..., which has spent six weeks at the top of the Triple A  The video, directed by Johnson himself, is currently in Gung Ho rotation at VH1  To The Sea is Johnson's 3rd #1 album. 2008's Sleep Through The Static spent three weeks at #1, and 2006's Sing-a-longs and Lullabies for the film Curious George debuted at #1.
 
Jack Johnson's new album, To The Sea, is not only #1 on the album charts but it is also paving the way for responsible CD production and packaging. The album was recorded using solar energy; printed on 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper, and carries the 1% For The Planet logo.
 
For Johnson's 2010 To The Sea tour, his production team, with the support of Reverb and MusicMatters, will continue to pave the way in green touring practices and community engagement. Tour busses and trucks will run on sustainably produced biodiesel, food will be sourced from local organic farmers, waste reduction efforts will be expanded with water refill stations along with bio-ware, composting and recycling. All tour merchandise is made from sustainable materials with a focus on reusable and renewable products. After all energy conservation measures have been taken, remaining CO2 emissions produced by the tour will be offset through supporting various carbon management projects around the world.

Jack Johnson's 2010 To The Sea Tour will also collaborate with hand-chosen community groups in the US and around the world as part of Johnson's All At Once Community. This year's All At Once campaign will focus on supporting non-profit groups and engaging fans in the realms of Sustainable Local Food Systems and Plastic Free Initiatives. At the shows, All at Once will come to life in the Village Green, where fans can fill up their reusable bottles for free at Brita's Filter For Good water stations, speak with local environmental groups about issues in their communities, participate in recycling programs and win prizes for taking action  Concertgoers are also encouraged to take public transportation to the shows and participate in the tour's online rideshare program.
