Dora Bjork Gudjonsdottir created ICE-GOTH in 2011, as a collective of creative Icelanders who appreciate the gothic subculture. Dora's initiative and leadership has generated international attention. As a University of Iceland Fine Arts graduate and administrator of the ICE-GOTH Facebook group, she hosts a monthly gothic night, featuring the best gothic and alternative electronic music. Dora's fascination with gothic music began many years ago.

Inspired by historical science-fiction, victorian fashion and individual creativity, these like-minded Icelanders were ultimately drawn together by their passion for music. Not just "any" music: Gothic music. Music with emotional intensity, originality and lyrical substance often laced with metaphysics, symbolism and references to literary references focusing upon the supernatural or an unexplained phenomenon. The music and fashion are interrelated and highly individualistic. The music of this subculture is often referred to as "gothic", although it encompasses a wide range of electronic, acoustic and rock music such as Industrial, EBM (electronic body music), Gothic Rock, Gothic Metal, New Romantic, and to a lesser extent, Electro and Dubstep.

ICE-GOTH will host Icelandic-Canadian JARNSTJARNA (iron star) on Saturday, October 20 at Gaukur A Stong. JARNSTJARNA is an experienced DJ, musician and radio host of SYNTHSYN on CJSR-FM. His May 2012 tour of Iceland received favourable reviews. JARNSTJARNA is also performing material from his upcoming debut CD release. JARNSTJARNA has spent much of his life immersed in the gothic subculture of Montreal, Canada.
