Blue Frog Records artists Ashu and Shaa'ir + Func perform at the MELKWEG in Amsterdam as part of the Amsterdam-India Festival

MUMBAI: Indian musicians are hitting the international arena with a bang! Blue Frog artists Ashu and Shaa'ir + Func will be performing at the Melkweg Cultural Centre in Amsterdam on November 16th.

They will be performing as a part of the Amsterdam-India Festival, the largest festival of Indian art and culture ever presented in Amsterdam. The festival, which kicked off on Wednesday the 12th of November, will continue through to the 30th and is a presentation of the finest that India has to offer in the fields of music, art and culture. Participants in this festival are selected for their unique talents and are in effect cultural ambassadors for India. The Festival was opened by Princess Maxima of the Netherlands.

The Melkweg is one of the most well-known cultural centres within and outside the Netherlands, and is known as a venue that unites five artistic disciplines under one roof: music, dance/theatre, film, photography and media art  Concerts, dance and theatrical events, films, media art presentations and photo exhibitions are staged in several venues at the Melkweg drawing a diverse mix of music lovers, festival promoters, corporates and performing artists from around the world.

Shaa'ir + Func have also recently toured Europe and the UK will be performing at The Layali lounge in Dubai on November 30th, 2008.
