MUMBAI: 9X Jhakaas Music Yatra - the travelling musical platform by Maharashtra’s first Marathi music channel 9X Jhakaas, will air a unique musical show called Goonj. A complete treat for instrumental music lovers, Goonj will feature internationally acclaimed flutist Pravin Ghodkhindi and his son Shadaj Ghodkhindi. Goonj will premiere on 9X Jhakaas on Saturday, 29th December 2012 at 9pm and will also have a repeat telecast on Sunday, 30th December 2012 at 9 am and at 10 pm.

Goonj is a musical journey which takes viewers to the beautiful city of Satara in search of mesmerizing music of the famous flutist Praveen Ghodkhindi and his son Shadaj Ghodkhindi. Born in a family of musicians Pravin Ghodkhind is a gifted artiste. He is a composer, a vocalist, an actor, a Tabla and harmonium player and a flute maestro. Pravin has formed a fusion band called KRISHNA, which has all the three forms of MUSIC viz. the Hindustani, the Carnatic, and the Western Music. The band is very popular in the concert circuit because of its uniqueness in content and presentations.

With Goonj, 9X Jhakaas has gone beyond the local Marathi sound, bringing in the international fusion flavor to its mix. The Channel has presented Goonj in a unique modern, youthful audio-visual format keeping in mind its young urban audience. The show is hosted by popular Marathi singer, Hrishikesh Kamerkar who has created music for some Big Hit Marathi movies such as Sade Made Teen,  Kshan Bhar Vishranti, Yanda Kartavya Aahe, Mukkam post London, etc.
