"Palak Didi has been a blessing to me" Palash Muchhal

MUMBAI: Unlike most 18 year olds who spend their free time outdoors with friends, Palash Muchhal is busy rehearsing for an upcoming gig with his sister. He may only be a teenager, but his work as a music composer will make you think otherwise. Palash is the perfect example of the old adage- "Age has nothing to do with success."

Gearing up to compose 17 films this year, he attributes all his success to his family. Palash believes his sister Palak Muchhal, who is a few years older and who sang for 'Tum Hi Ho’, has been the biggest blessing for him. "Palak Didi has been a blessing to me. She also happens to be my inspiration; it is because of her that I actually got interested in learning music," he said. Currently, Palash is composing music for Ashutosh Govarikar, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra's Dhishkiyaoon. His name was recommended to Shilpa Shetty by Harman Baweja. The youngster will also be composing music for the film Bhootnath Returns, for which Amitabh Bachchan and Mika Sigh will loan their vocals.

On working with someone as renowned as Amitabh Bachchan he said, "I have seen him as I worked with Abhishekh bhaiya for the film 'Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se’. And he singing for me is like icing on the cake. Mika Paaji as usual, brings a song to a completely different level."

With a singer for a sister and him being a composer, the duo often gets into creative arguments. "Whenever didi and I jam together, mom expects one of us to walk out of the room. Our fight lasts for an hour and there has never been a time that we have slept without talking to each other," explained the composer.

Apart from composing he loves to catch up on his sleep and works on his music in the wee hours of the morning. He also loves to watch football and cricket. His favourite football team happens to be Manchester United and is a die heart fan of Saurav Ganguly. "The day 'dada’ retired, I cried my heart out," he exclaimed. He does not have many friends since he recently shifted to Mumbai from Indore with his family. "Also I do not feel the need to have too many friends as I have my family, and my best friend didi. I have my pets at home, so this is a strategy of my parents to keep us at home," he said laughingly.
