IndiEarth at The Park with Gods Robots and Nucleya

MUMBAI: IndiEarth in association with The Park Chennai have launched IndiEarth at The Park - a regular music performance series that features the finest of independent musical talent and a colourful spectrum of musicians from across India and around the world. The second edition, happening in Chennai this weekend on Friday February 7th and Saturday February 8th, will feature electronica duo Gods Robots and bass icon Nucleya.

In an effort to change Chennai's musical landscape and offer audiences quality music experiences, IndiEarth in collaboration with The Park Chennai are set to launch a new musical property that promises an eclectic melange of independent musicians from a variety of different genres. The nights will be held every month and will carry the diverse programming and production signature that characterizes IndiEarth XChange. In addition to offering audiences a truly unique music experience, the nights will also act as a platform for both established and up and coming independent musicians, providing a space for these artists to showcase their craft.

The second edition of the series takes place this weekend on February 7th and 8th, featuring two acts that represent the finest of Indian electronica - global collaborative project Gods Robots, and Nucleya - the bass heavy avatar of Udyan Sagar (former Bandish Projekt). Gods Robots, featuring Mumbai based vocalist ShriiK and San Francisco based electronic music producer Janaka

Selekta, is a global collaboration that brings together different worlds of sound – Carnatic classical music, with breakbeat, dubstep, DnB, reggae and South Asian folk. ShriiK is a Mumbai based classically trained Carnatic vocalist, while Janaka has established himself as a proponent of the West Coast's underground dance music scene. Nucleya is known best for his association with all things bass, and has performed at numerous music festivals across the country and around the world – including Glastonbury, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and Lille 3000.

A trademark of these quality music events organised by IndiEarth is the fact that they are free entry and open to all, as a way to encourage audience involvement in Chennai's independent music culture. "We want to encourage audience participation in our indie music nights, and have decided to keep the entry free to these events"‚ says Sonya Mazumdar, founder and CEO of EarthSync, "In order

for artists to be able to flourish, the independent music and arts industry in India must grow and expand - EarthSync and IndiEarth are doing their part to make this happen, but audiences in Chennai and around India also play a key role in facilitating this. It starts with simply coming out to support your local music and arts scene".

IndiEarth at The Park will take place at Aqua and The Leather Bar Terrace in The Park Chennai, on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8, 2014.
