MUMBAI: Former Spice Girl member Mel B, is the latest to join the jury panel in the eighth season of the popular reality show ‘America’s Got Talent’. The singer known by her real name as Melanie Brown will replace Sharon Osbourne, who quit the series over a dispute with NBC on their decision to drop her son Jack from another reality show. She will now be joined on the jury panel with Howard Stern, who has agreed to return for his second season, and comedian Howie Mandel.

MUMBAI: Veteran blues guitarist Magic Slim and contemporary of blues greats like Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf passed away yesterday night at a Philadelphia hospital where he had been under treatment for various ailments. Aged 75, the son of Mississippi sharecroppers gave up the piano and turned to the guitar after losing his right finger in a cotton gin accident at 13 years.

MUMBAI: It took more than 22 years for Tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain 's Moment Records to come to India, and he plans not to make any money from it. Light hearted Hussain accompanied by his wife Antonia Minnecola looks after the creativity and production of Moment Records. Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Hussain says, "Moment Records has music from great masters but we make sure that it is presented and projected well. That's is why it took too long for the label to finally come in India"

MUMBAI: Changes are afoot at EMI Music India following the rollout of the acquisition of its parent EMI overseas by Vivendi’s Universal Music Group and Sony Music in their Indian offshoots respectively. According to sources, EMI Music India managing director T.Suresh is unlikely to continue at the helm of the music label. These sources say that a large part of the current EMI team may go on to be a part of the new Universal-EMI entity when it comes into existence in the next few months.
