Arijit Singh strums the right chords at Inorbit parking lot

MUMBAI: The idea of a concert in a parking lot would not go down well with many people. But that is exactly how Bollywood singer- Arijit Singh held his latest show; in the parking lot of Inorbit Mall in Malad, on Friday 19th December. The 'Sajde' singer performed to a crowd of 5,000 plus people at the unconventional venue. Although the show was scheduled to start at 6 p.m. the crowd starting arriving at 4:30 p.m.

After waiting for about one hour and 45 minutes longer than required, Singh finally made his way onto the stage with a guitar, humming the famous romantic tune of 'Tum Hi Ho' at 7:45 p.m. A rather delighted crowd then started singing along to the track with him.

Supriya Joshi also joined Singh and belted out a few tracks like 'Chahun Main Ana', 'Har Kisi Ko Nahi Milta' and 'Main Rang Sharbato Ka', which brought a thunderous applause from the audience.

Singh interacted with the audience at regular intervals. While performing the song 'Woh Lamhe', he asked the audience, "Feeling nostalgic?" to which he got a roaring "Yes" from the crowd. He then presented them with a medley.

He expressed his astonishment at performing at the venue. "I keep on roaming at Inorbit very often, but I never thought that I would perform here," said the singer.  While performing his famous track 'Main Tenu Samjhawa' he asked the audience to join him. Dressed in blue jeans, white t shirt and black jacket, Singh presented rock versions of the tracks 'Roobaroo', 'Bheegi Bheegi' and 'Suno Na Sangemarmar'.

To complement his vocals, the sound was amazing; it was neither too loud nor too soft. The lights and the side screens were also big enough for people at the back to get a glimpse of the stage.

The show ended with the song 'Kabira' from the film 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani'.
