Shafqat Amanat Ali re-creates magic with "Kherheyan De Naal" in Tevar

MUMBAI: Shafqat Amanat Ali, one of the leading voices of the sub-continent today, has delivered numerous Bollywood hits in the last few years. A singer who has been credited with bringing back the use of the classical idiom in Bollywood music with a contemporary rock-pop tinge and much loved for the same by the audiences with his first movie song Mitwa for Shankar - Ehsaan - Loy till the more recent hit Allah Wariyan now re-creates magic with Sajid-Wajid.

His already popular and much-loved song Kherheyan De Naal has been re-created by the soulful singer in a new avatar for Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha's much hyped Tevar. The song, which has won the singer much appreciation from audiences worldwide as well as critics, has been featured in Tevar in a new avatar. The main line "Mai Nai Jaana Kherheyan De Naal" has been retained from the original folk song of Pakistan which Shafqat had adapted to create this track for his album Tabeer. However, in the movie the remaining lyrics which were written by Shafqat himself for the album have been replaced by Kausar Muneer's soulful words.

Retaining the melody of the original composition of Shafqat, Sajid-Wajid have made meaningful additions to the composition in a well- etched out way without disturbing the aesthetic beauty of the original.

Speaking about the track, Shafqat Amanat Ali said "The song is very close to my heart and it was heartening to see it become popular with the audiences when we released it 6 years ago. I am extremely excited to see it on the silver screen in its new avatar. It has been used beautifully by the filmmakers and it was an absolute pleasure working with Sajid-Wajid again. I look forward to see the audience reaction to this new version."
