Govt says AIR, DD DG posts open to insiders, facts state otherwise

NEW DELHI: Even as the Information and Broadcasting Ministry today denied that internal professions are denied regular appointment to the post of Director-General in Doordarshan and All India Radio, a look at the past twenty years or so shows that almost all the heads of DD or AIR were people who belonged either to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Information Service.

94.3 MY FM brings joy among 1,027 prisoners with seven days reprieve from Jail

MUMBAI: MY FM recently organised a cricket match for over a thousand inmates of Raipur Central Jail. 1,027 prisoners participated in a cricket match  against the MY FM team captained by Rajesh Chauhan, an international sports star from Raipur. Around 800 spectators came forward to cheer their favorite team. The enthusiastic prisoners won the match, and as a reward,  the Jail Superintendant and DG of Raipur jail granted pardon of imprisonment of seven days to all 1,027 prisoners.
