94.3 MY FM brings joy among 1,027 prisoners with seven days reprieve from Jail

MUMBAI: MY FM recently organised a cricket match for over a thousand inmates of Raipur Central Jail. 1,027 prisoners participated in a cricket match  against the MY FM team captained by Rajesh Chauhan, an international sports star from Raipur. Around 800 spectators came forward to cheer their favorite team.

The enthusiastic prisoners won the match, and as a reward,  the Jail Superintendant and DG of Raipur jail granted pardon of imprisonment of seven days to all 1,027 prisoners.

MY FM promoted the match through on-air announcements, teasers and RJ mentions along with ground promotions. Along with several media houses, My FM invited a team of 60 journalism students who were given special permission to visit the jail premises to cover and write about this unique initiative.

Harrish Bhatia, CEO, MY FM, said, This was a truly innovative idea, and through this initiative 94.3 MY FM wanted to set a benchmark in society by engaging each and every one possible in this cricket event. Reaching out to these prisoners was our way to let them know they are not less than anyone else, and deserve their share of fun and leisure. We congratulate the prisoners and appreciate the enthusiasm they have shown....
