MUMBAI: Radio digitalization is now just around the corner as the implementation of DRM receivers in All India Radio stations are progressing at a good pace in the country. The move will also increase the receiver demand in the country, signaling an opportunity for receiver manufacturers for export as well. Indian receiver manufacturers are now witnessing a great opportunity for the Indian electronics industry. Some manufacturers are stated to have begun collecting details and making suggestions to be considered by the Government as part of the AIR roll-out plan.

Pop star Rita Ora is the new face of Material Girl

MUMBAI: Albanian-British singer songwriter Rita Ora is the new face of pop diva Madonna and daughter, Lola’s junior lifestyle brand Material Girl. Protégé of Jay-Z, 22-year-old  Ora, topped UK charts in 2012, with her debut album ‘Ora’, which spawned three number one singles. She joins former faces of the international brand like  Georgia Jagger, Kelly Osbourne and Taylor Momsen. T-Series signs four film deal with Umesh Shukla

Indian Ocean co-founder Susmit Sen announces new band

MUMBAI: After an illustrious journey of 23 years, Susmit Sen, renowned guitarist and co-founder of the iconic band Indian Ocean has decided to end his association with the band. Speaking with Radioandmusic.com Sen says, “I have left Indian Ocean to start something individually. I have been doing my solo activities with my band ‘The Susmit Sen Chronicles’ from the past seven to eight months. It will be a seven member band.”

Jennifer Lopez plans American Idol return

MUMBAI: Having quit the show as a judge after its 11th season, Latin pop singer Jennifer Lopez is reportedly planning a return as jury member on the next season of the singing reality show American Idol. The singer-actress stated that she is open to reprising her role of a judge on American Idol but is not sure what has been decided. She refused to divulge details on whether she has been approached to be part of the show's judging panel.
