MUMBAI: Rahul Pandey whose voice was behind the hit song ‘Jab We Met’ from the movie ‘Hero’ (2015), has lent his voice for the first time for Tamil and Malayalam films as well.

Rahul debuted in Bollywood with the popular song ‘Haseena Tu Kameena Mein’ from the movie ‘Happy Ending’ in 2014. This year he debuted in the Malayalam and Tamil film industries with two songs. ‘Zindagi Its Life’ for a Malayalam film ‘Oozham’ and the Tamil track is called ‘Double Ok’ for the film named ‘Adhagappattathu Magajanangalay’.

He has sung the Telugu smash hit ‘Hey Akhil’ from the movie ‘Akhil – The Power of Jua’ and ‘Alare Aala’ for ‘Soukhyam’ in 2015.

Talking about the song ‘Double Ok’ he shared, “I sang it for D Imaan who is a well known composer down South. Tamil is a difficult language but it was great fun. Of course, I don’t know the language, there was a language expert during the dubbing sessions and he was quite cooperative.”

The song is composed by D Imaan, penned by Yugabharathi. The rap is written and sung by Hyde Karty. The song was released on Sony Music Entertainment on 27 October; the movie will be released soon.

“Best part about 'Double OK' is that Imaan sir was looking for a quirky tone and he told me to experiment a bit with my tone. I tried something different and he loved it,” added Rahul.
