Red FM Kolkata pays tribute to RD Burman

MUMBAI: Red FM Kolkata is running special episodes for the week titled Pancham–Paanch Din... to commemorate legendary music composer RD Burman's birth anniversary.

Beginning this Monday, noted singer Indrani Sen shared her fond memories about working with Pancham Da and recorded the last Bengali album composed by RD Burman. For the entire week station will run shows featuring RD Burman's superhit songs interspersed by celebrities sharing their experiences of working with the musical maestro.

Red FM will host exclusive RD Burman contests on each show where listeners can win special music CD's of the legend. The station has also customized its bumpers and station jingle and will run RD Burman trivia capsules across the day as a part of the festivities.

Commenting on this initiative Red FM 93.5 Network Senior VP- projects and programming Nisha Narayanan said, Red FM Kolkata has the best mix of new and old, Bengali and Hindi music and on the occasion of Pancham Da's birth anniversary we are celebrating the beautiful, soulful music he gave us. RD Burman's mesmeric music festooned Indian films for over 5 decades and even today his songs are sung with the same fondness and love. For the people of Kolkata, Pancham Da will always be close to their hearts and this is Red FM's ode to the man who revolutionized Indian film music....
