Legend Pyarelal pays tribute to music maestro Mohd. Rafi

MUMBAI: As part of Fever Tribute series, legendary Pyarelal of the music duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal will pay tribute to music maestro Mohd. Rafi. The event is scheduled to be held on 10 August at Siri Fort Auditorium in Delhi.

Pyarelal would be accompanied by renowned singer Javed Ali along with world-class 50 piece symphony and singer Meenal Jain. Fever Entertainment has adopted a 360 degree marketing campaign for the concert.

Laxmikant-Pyarelal had a great rapport with Rafi sahab and had patronized him as one of their singers from their very first song ‘Tere pyaar ne mujhe gham diya’ by him from the film Chaila Babu (1967). Rafi honoured the affection and commitment of the duo by accepting no payment for the song. Rafi has rendered maximum number of songs for the music director duo; a total of 369 numbers (186 solo).Both Rafi and L-P won the Filmfare Awards for the song ‘Chahoonga Main Tujhe Saanjh Savere’ from Dosti in 1964.  The composer duo has composed music for about 635 Hindi movies from 1963 to 1998, working for almost all notable film-makers.

31 July marks the death anniversary of Rafi sahab who passed away at 10:50 pm following a heart attack in the year 1980. His last song was ‘Shaam Phir Kyun Udaas Hai Dost’ (Aas Paas), which he had recorded with Laxmikant-Pyarelal few hours before his death.
