K Sera Sera launches music label

MUMBAI:  Film production house K Sera Sera is the latest media company to get into the music label business.

The company has launched its own music label, K Sera Sera Music, and its home production, Kiss Se Pyaar Karoon, is the first title it will roll out. According to the company's director Sanjay Lall, the label is a logical extension of the production house's plans, and will focus on acquiring 'good music, basically Bollywood'. This would entail K Sera Sera's own productions, as well as other acquisitions too.

The company is also planning to get into the home video business shortly, Lall said.

For now, the K Sera Sera will use its own distribution network for the music of Kiss Se Pyaar Karoon. The company, meanwhile, has sold the music rights of its upcoming film Chal Chala Chal to Venus. Chal Chala Chal releases on 6 February.

In the last few months, filmmakers Pahlaj Nihalani, Vikram Bhatt have also launched their own music labels. Last year, UTV launched its own label, UTV Music but has so far only launched the music of Jodhaa Akbar. Yash Raj and Big are the two brands in the industry which have a successful label business.
