MUMBAI: They have been in the music scene for over a dozen years, but it is only in the past couple of years that they have managed to hog the limelight. The husband and wife pair of Clinton and Dominique Cerejo is slowly climbing its way up in the Hindi film music industry 

Clinton, who hails from a family of academicians, talks about his entry into the music world, "I got into the advertising scene initially as a singer, singing a few jingles for music directors like Lezz Lewis, Ranjit Barot, Ehsaan and Loy, etc. But I was always more interested in production and arranging and so I started devoting more time to developing myself in those areas. Slowly but surely I began doing arrangements and production in Bollywood as well as composing my own jingles for the advertising scene."

Dominique narrating her tale adds, "I started off as a singer with local bands. However I got noticed at an audition for Alladin - The movie, which was being dubbed in Hindi. Ranjit Barot was the music director on that project. The very next day I was called in to the studio to sing and my advertising career took off from there and then films followed.

Talking about their big break into Bollywood Clinton says, "Bollywood happenned slowly but first I began singing and doing vocal arrangements for A R down south for his Tamil movies. I sang songs in Alaipayuthey, Kandukondain Kandukondain, and arranged for films like Mudhalvan, Boys, etc. Bollywood happenned after that when I worked on Aks for Anu Malek, and Dil Chahta Hai for SEL. Following that I arranged on a whole lot of films." Talking about her break Dominique adds, "Bollywood has been a gradual evolution. I first got noticed when I performed the theme from AR Rahman's Fire at the Filmfare awards in 1997. I recorded with Rajesh Roshan for Moksh with Remo for Khamoshi and with Pritam for Dhoom 2 among others. However Yeh Tumhari Meri Baatein from Rock On is the song that got people's attention."

Last year Clinton earned praises as a music producer and arranger on Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey and Abhishek Chaubey's Ishqiya. "I also sang Kya Karoon from Wake up Sid and Kyon from All the Best." His recent song Hey Ya from "Karthik calling Karthik" has already notched the top positions at the charts. Dominique also hada  busy 2009 with projects including Rocking and Reeling from Billu, title track of Pyaar Impossible for Salim Suleiman, Ba Mulaiza from De Dana Dan.

The duo also and worked together last year on a duet for Sachin Jigar, I'll be there for U from the film Tere Sang. Says clinton, "We worked together on innumerable projects for the past twelve years or more. These include various jingles for brands like Coke , Hyundai, Siyaram, Ponds, not to mention the countless we've done vocal arrangements and sung on for directors like A R Rahman, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Jatin Lalit, Pritam, Salim Suleiman, Vishal Shekhar, Ranjit Barot, Anu Malek and more.

The duo is geared up for their projects in 2010. Clinton is working on a number of TV commercials for brands like LG, Gillette, Club Mahindra, and in Bollywood am working on Vishal Bhardwaj's new movie Saat Khoon Maaf where as Dominique would be busy with her new non-film project.
