MUMBAI: Radio Misty 94.3 FM, the First and Number One Fm station of North Bengal have partnered with P C Mittal Memorial Trust for Best Chatt Ghat Awards to be held in Siliguri. This is the largest Award programme of the region. This is the third time trust is organising this award. The first prize consists of cash 21 thousand rupees and trophy. Second prize consist of cash 11 thousand rupees and trophy, whereas the third prize consist of cash 5 thousand rupees and trophy. A panel of judges from different walk of life is formed to adjudge these awards.

Chhath is a way to be grateful to the Sun for giving the bounties of life on earth and for the fulfilment of wishes of believers. It is a festival of reverence to the solar deity, the only festival in the world where devotees offer salutations to the setting sun. Unlike Holi or Diwali, Chhath is a festival of prayer and appeasement observed with somberness, a festival that should not be missed. It is held in high esteem and regard.
