Radio Mantra 91.9 FM celebrates the Hand Washing Day

MUMBAI: Radio Mantra 91.9 FM in partnership with UNICEF celebrated the Hand washing day on October 27th 2009, where the concerted effort was to promote sanitation and hygiene practices, especially hand washing with soap, among children.

In their effort to mobilize and motivate millions to wash their hands with soap across its cities in Jalandhar, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh & Jharkhand; Radio Mantra 91.9 FM aired effective hand washing tips under their segment Saaf haath mein hai dum... along with an ON AIR contest asking listeners about basic sanitation and hygiene practices.

On this Day, Hundreds of children created magic by gathering at various centres across India demonstrating the correct way of washing hands with soap to support this campaign. Live updates from Venue were packaged on AIR with various facts highlighting the ill effects caused due to negligence of Hand washing.

Talking to us on the same, Abhishek Thakur, Marketing Manager, Radio Mantra 91.9 FM said, Going ahead the Mantra way, our efforts and associations are not only to do things differently but at the same time highlighting basic Mantra's for good and healthy life. Sanitation and hygiene are the basics of good health and good health means good life. Our approach was to keep it simple and yet effective to impart the same message to our listeners.
