Jaasthi Maadi with Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM

MUMBAI: Bengaluru's sakkath hot radio station has time and again shown its concern in making the world a better place to live in with its novel initiatives. This time it is with the Jaasthi Maadi... campaign. The world population day is just round the corner and Mirchi is urging its listeners to increase the population; not of people but of trees in the city. The Jaasthi Maadi... campaign kick started early this week and took Bangaloreans by surprise when they heard their favourite RJs persuade their fans to increase the population less knowing that they were talking about the trees in the city.

Given that the original Garden City is slowly losing its green cover in its march to progress, Mirchi RJs are requesting the citizens of namma Bengaluru to send in their messages to get a sapling to be planted. This campaign is in association with BBMP & LDA (Lake Development Authority) which will assist people in planting the saplings in a specific location.

Expressing his happiness on the campaign, Rahul Balyan, Cluster Head for Karnataka & Kerala said, "While world population day is about concerns on increasing human population and the strain it puts especially on cities, we at Mirchi wanted to take up a cause that can positively impact this issue. This drive of planting more trees is Radio Mirchi's way of helping the environment cope with the burgeoning population. True to Mirchi style, this initiative is whacky and at the same time has a meaningful purpose and a great message to convey to the citizens of Bengaluru."
