Gully Gully Mein Cricket Ka Jashn - Radio Mirchi presents Mirchi Premiere League

MUMBAI: Cricket is played in every gully and every mohalla of India. With cricket fever gripping the nation with the on-going World Cup season, Radio Mirchi and Pepsi came together to provide a platform to recognize the local talent with Pepsi Mirchi Premiere League... – a celebration of gully cricket.

The finale of the gully cricket tournament took place on Sunday March 20th at the Railway grounds, Tarnaka amidst fanfare and excitement. The final teams battle it out on the cricket ground with much vigour and sportsmanship to win the title of Hyderabad's No. 1 gully cricket team.

Adding colour and glamour on the occasion were Mirchi RJs, who cheered the winners with spirit of Holi colours and also presented the prizes to the teams. The winners were given Rs.50, 000/- & the runner up was presented with Rs. 25, 000/-.

The month long activity was kick started through an on-air promotion asking the gully cricket teams to register for the competition. A total of 64 teams were selected, who played the knock out rounds, quarter-finals, semi-final, to reach the finale. Some of the best teams of the contest were Hot Boys Hyderabad Crusaders, Raising Stars, Challenging Warriors, Air Warriors, Rocking Eleven, Prec Legend Killers XI etc…
