Chennai's Radio City 91.1FM works with Chennai Traffic Police

MUMBAI: Reiterating their duty towards Chennai's Radio Cityzens, Radio City 91.1FM came together with Chennai City Traffic Police to conduct a 'Road Safety Awareness Campaign'. Organized on June 14, 2008 at Elliot's Beach, Chennai's Radio City 91.1FM hosted an array of interactive games around Traffic Safety Rules. Joining RJ Anandhakannan (Joyride) and RJ Archana (Endrendrum Punnagai) in getting the message across was Mr. Sunil Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police, Chennai City Traffic Police. Also gracing the occasion was Ms. Lalitha Lakshmi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic).

Sharing his feedback on the activity, Mr. Sunil Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police, Chennai City Traffic Police said," It was overwhelming to see the sea of citizens thronging the beach in response to Radio City's call! We were quite taken aback with the realization of the impact that an FM station can create for listeners by taking up such a cause. Thanks to Radio City, not only did the patrons enjoy the fun filled contests and activities with Radio City RJs, but also it was an interesting way to impart knowledge and awareness about traffic regulation norms in Chennai city. This is something that we are constantly attempting to promote!"The two hour long activity by Radio City was highly appreciated by one and all with Chennai's Radio Cityzens turning out in huge numbers to join in the Whatte Fun experience! Radio City RJs kept the atmosphere alive charming the crowds with their fun games and contests. Also as part of this campaign, Chennai's Radio City invited listeners to share their ideas of regulating traffic through SMS'. The winning entries bagged Radio City goodies which were up for grabs.
