92.7 Big FM reveres Musical Legend Pancham da with his personal musical finds Kumar Sanu & Abhijeet Bhattachrya

MUMBAI: Continuing the musical journey which began two days ago with the show â€?Michael se Pancham tak' a tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson on his death anniversary, 92.7 Big FM dedicated June 27, 2011 to India's legendary music composer RD Burman (Pancham da) who was born today in 1939.

Pancham da was probably one of the first composers to successfully explore and integrate different genres of music into Indian cinema, be it the heart wrenching tunes of Kati Patang, the rock and roll feel of Dum maaro dum from Hare Rama Hare Krishna, the fun numbers from Padosan or the soulful melodies of Amar Prem and 1942 – A Love Story, Pancham da had composed them all.

92.7 Big FM dedicated the day  to showcase to the listeners the versatility of the man the industry fondly called Pancham da. Two special guests present at the occasion were playback singers Kumar Sanu and Abhijeet Bhattacharya. In fact Kumar Sanu who worked with Pancham da on a numbers of songs shared with listeners the overwhelming feeling he had while working with Pancham da. Similarly Abhijeet Bhattacharya who had worked with Pancham da in his early days in the industry also shared his experiences with listeners of 92.7 Big FM.

Listeners were treated to many unknown trivia about Pancham da, for eg. how many people knew that he comes from the royal family of Tripura or that he composed his first song at the tender age of 9.

Needless to say many celebrities from the industry also came on air to pay their tributes to Pancham da.
