MUMBAI: After the super success of the previous year's cycle rally called AVON Cyclothon, Reliance Broadcast Network's radio arm 92.7 BIG FM and AVON Cycles continued the initiative this year to engage the citizens of India to take a unique pledge to cycle to work at least once in a week. The initiative has been crafted for a better and greener tomorrow.

The BIG Avon Cyclothon 2012 rally saw its national flag off from Chandigarh on 24th November 2011 post which it traveled across 36 cities of India. Each city will see one lucky winner emerge, who will win a bicycle. The Delhi leg of the rally was organised by 92.7 BIG FM in the presence of Shibani Kashyap and students of Delhi Business School at Mohan Cooperative Industrial Estate on Saturday, 28th January. Around 50 students participated in the cyclothon on the chilly morning in the capital.

Through the activity promotion the 92.7 BIG FM team, led by the RJ's, will encourage the local populace, to use their bicycle at least once a week. The RJs will motivate the listeners to support the cause by sending messages to adopt the habit of cycling. There are several options to contribute to the environment, but the act of cycling once a week is the easiest and the healthiest.

Not only is it environment friendly but is also healthy. 92.7 BIG FM which lives its brand-line – Suno Sunao, Life Banao, in each of its offerings, has always conceptualized initiatives that contribute positively to the lives of listeners and this is yet another initiative in the same space. 92.7 BIG FM has partnered with the leading cycle manufacturer of the country - Avon Cycles for this activity and is confident that together they will be able to create a sizeable impact across India.

Supporting the green initiative, Shibani Kashyap said: I really want to learn cycling as this is the best exercise. It's like killing two birds by same shot. By cycling, you can keep yourself healthy as well as reduce the pollution in the environment. I do lots of travelling and I saw people in Western Countries stress a lot on cycling and walking....

Shibani also nodded the idea of dedicating one song on cycling in her next album. Off course. I would be very happy to sing a song on cycling....
